ABOUT‏ ME

I started in this business in 1977 when lending was easy. There were only three types of 30 year fixed rate mortgage and a 15 year fixed rate mortgage. I’ve seen everything one can possibly see in the real estate financing business -- rates at 18% to 1%, adjustable rate mortgages with no caps and no one ever heard of APRs, two page sales contracts to a one page loan application, values rising and values falling and, finally the most unlikely candidate for a home owner became one.

I have analyzed tax returns so thick that they came in a little red wagon to the paycheck of the simplest hourly employee. I have helped people with no money to put down to people who can more than pay cash for their home. I have assisted people with the worst credit to the most stellar.

All that one has when their time is up is their reputation. Money and stuff can always be replaced, but one’s reputation is more precious than gold. My word and the quality of my work is of the utmost import to me and my clients. I know no other way of doing my job than the right way. Mistakes happen, but I’m not the type to run and hide when these things happen. I return all calls, even the most unpleasant of calls. No one has yet to die during a real estate transaction and there hasn’t been any news so dire that I couldn’t pick the phone up and share bad news as well as good.

Honesty and integrity are my main concerns in any relationship. Getting a loan is almost as invasive as open heart surgery and open communication is a must. This is not a time for underhandedness. The purchase of a home is the one biggest investment most people will make in their lives. We must be able to be candid with one another when there’s this much money at stake.

All that one has when their time is up is their reputation.  Money and stuff can always be replaced, but one’s reputation is more precious than gold.  I’m not planning on starting a new career, so my word and the quality of my work is of the utmost import to me and my clients.  I know no other way of doing my job than the right way.  Sure, mistakes happen, but I’m not the type to run and hide when these things happen.  I’ll still return a call, even the most unpleasant of calls. No one has yet to die during a real estate transaction and there hasn’t been any news so dire that I couldn’t pick the phone up and share bad news as well as good.

I also enjoy volunteering my time to our local Association of Realtors®.  I’m a sucker for anything to do with children and those less fortunate.  It’s important to me to give back to the community that gives to me.

HOW I WORK

LOOK AT YOUR FINANCES DIFFERENTLY

Your finances are influential in many avenues in your life. There have been studies done to link better financial decision–making to better behavior. If your bank account is happy your outlook may be a little brighter as well. Use these suggestions to look at your finances in a new way.

Create a vision board.

A vision board is a collage of images and words representing a person's wishes or goals, intended to serve as inspiration or motivation. Crafting a vision board can help you realize your goals for the future. When you know your goals, it can be easier to map a path to success.

Make small goals.

Now that you have realized your big goals set smaller goals. Studies have shown that if you set small goals that can be accomplished you will be inspired to keep working for the goals that take longer to accomplish.

Make a date.

Try to calculate how long it might take to accomplish your goal and give it a date to work toward. With a deadline you are less likely to procrastinate and feel more motivated when putting in the work.

A form of self–love.

It may sound corny but paying off debts or saving for a trip are ways to value yourself.

Learn to Savor.

It is important to learn to value what you have rather than trying to find happiness by acquiring more things. It is nice to have the newest version of your phone but the money you spent could have been applied to your goals.
